The best definition of God has to be from the Westminster Shorter Catechism that says “God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal and unchangeable, in his being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness and truth.” The Lord is what makes Heaven Heaven and is the one we desire more than anything else (Psa. 63:1). The essence of eternal life is God(John 17:3). We have difficulty understanding God because we are finite while God is infinite. We will spend eternity getting to know the Lord, so a whole section of this site is devoted to this subject.
